Visas / NLV Renewal

NLV Renewal · 2 more years if approved

Year one done. Two more years starts with the right bank summaries.

An NLV renewal asks for double the funds, continuous insurance and proof you didn't spend more than six months away. We audit your finances against the two-year threshold, prepare the government side and file it for you.

For applications submitted through the UGE in Spain, the UGE fees are included. Consular fees are not, and are paid by you directly to the Spanish consulate.

Who it's for

Is this your visa?

A good fit if

  • Your TIE expires within 60 days, or expired less than 90 days ago
  • You can show €57,600 for the next two years
  • You kept full private health insurance all year

Look elsewhere if

  • You spent more than six months outside Spain in year one
  • Your card expired more than 90 days ago (talk to us first)

Not sure? Your case manager confirms the route before you pay anything.

Everything in your fee

Honest note: biometrics and TIE fingerprints are in person. We tell you exactly what to bring, so you only go once.

The funds check

Double year one, because the renewal lasts two years.

The threshold is set per month and counted over the whole period. In savings or passive income, this is what has to be there now. Based on €2,400 a month for you and €600 a month for each family member. Money you expect to receive doesn't count. If anything is missing, we show you exactly how much before you file.

First year

What you showed for year one

  • Main applicant: €28,800
  • Each family member: €7,200

Two-year renewal

What you show now

  • Main applicant: €57,600
  • Each family member: €14,400

The permit

What it gives you

  • The renewal lasts 2 years
  • No new criminal record or medical certificate from your home country needed
  • Filed online with the immigration office, not the UGE
  • If you filed in time, your status continues while you wait for the decision
  • Switching to a work permit after year one is possible, as a new application

Documents

What you'll usually need

  1. Passport and current TIE card
  2. 6 months of bank statements and a bank letter with your balance
  3. Pension letter or proof of passive income
  4. Padrón (town hall registration) certificate
  5. Renewed health insurance policy

Your dashboard gives you your own checklist, with instructions for each document. Requirements can differ per consulate.

What the fee covers

In your €899, and not in it.

We'd rather you see the exclusions now than on an invoice later.

The honest version

What we can't promise, and what we do instead.

Six months away is the limit.

More than that in year one puts the renewal at risk. Tell us early and we'll look at your options.

Funds have to be there now.

We can't count money you expect to receive. We show you exactly what's missing, if anything.

Extranjería decides.

We prepare, file and follow up. The decision rests with the Immigration Office.

Switching to work is a new application.

After year one you may be able to move to a work permit, but it's not automatic.

Questions

NLV Renewal questions

Something else? Ask us.

When is my renewal window?

From 60 days before your TIE expires to 90 days after. Apply before expiry to avoid fines or problems with your status.

How much do I need to show?

€57,600 for the two-year period, double the first-year requirement, plus €14,400 for each family member. Savings or passive income both count; money you expect to receive does not.

Do I need new criminal record checks or medical certificates?

No. Your local Spanish record is checked internally.

Can I switch to a work permit?

Possibly, after the initial year. It's a separate application with its own requirements, not an automatic conversion.

How long is the renewal valid?

Two years, if approved. Those years keep counting towards long-term residence after five.

What does it cost, and when do I pay?

Two payments: the first when you sign up, the second once your renewal is approved. Each family member is billed separately. You see your fee before you pay anything.

Is the government fee extra?

No. It's included in our flat fee and we pay it for you, so there's no separate invoice.

Check your window before it opens.
